On October 19 at the Arcadia Community Center, Arcadia Police Foundation’s Halloween Hoopla partygoers were treated to an exciting evening of great food, drink and spooktacular merriment with arcade games, humorous sobriety tests, a spirited costume contest, and roving entertainers.
Attendees came together to support the efforts of the Arcadia Police Foundation in raising funds for the Arcadia Police Department’s projects and programs through silent and live auctions. A generous $30,000 donation from Grand Funding Group was announced and will cover the cost of an additional K-9 officer.
“Mother of the Force” Dorothy Denne was honored for her many years volunteering for the APD and Foundation. Dorothy’s warmth, wit and no-nonsense attitude have endeared her to the many APD officers she’s worked with over the years. Dorothy ran the PACE office at the Santa Anita Mall, worked in community relations, and in recent years spearheaded efforts to bring the K-9 program back to the APD.
The Arcadia Police Foundation was formed in 2015 to support the Arcadia Police Department by raising funds to support projects not funded in full through the city budget. I am honored to support Arcadia’s boys in blue by serving on the APF board. For more information about the APF please go toarcadiapolicefoundation@ArcadiaCA.gov.
